Position Details – Supplier Quality Assurance

Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Deputy Manager – SQA will play a strategic and operational role in ensuring that all suppliers meet the organization’s quality, delivery, and cost expectations. Major responsibilities include:
1. Vendor Identification & Assessment
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers for stamping, plastic, casting, and rubber components.
- Conduct detailed feasibility studies and capability assessments for onboarding new vendors.
2. Supplier Relationship & Communication
- Establish and maintain strong, transparent, and continuous communication with suppliers.
- Work closely with them to improve quality, cost efficiency, and timely supply.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Verify that suppliers adhere to required quality standards, technical specifications, PPAP requirements, and regulatory norms.
- Ensure suppliers meet performance targets related to quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
4. Supplier Performance Monitoring
- Track supplier KPIs such as rejection rate, defect rate, OTR, response time, and overall quality score.
- Identify chronic issues and drive long-term corrective actions through continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Vendor Audits & Technical Evaluations
- Conduct regular process audits, system audits, and technical capability reviews.
- Identify risks, non-conformities, and improvement opportunities during audit visits.
6. Cross-functional Coordination
- Work alongside QA, engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure smooth material flow and defect-free production.
- Support technical reviews for new product development and change management.
7. Part Development & PPAP
- Oversee complete part development, from proto sample to final approval.
- Ensure timely PPAP submission, validation, and sample clearance as per internal and customer requirements.
8. Team Leadership
- Lead and guide a team of 15+ members, including Assistant Managers, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Inspectors.
- Define team targets, provide training, and enhance the capability of team members.
9. Manufacturing Process Understanding
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of stamping, molding, casting, machining, and rubber processes.
- Understand cost drivers and manufacturing constraints to make informed sourcing decisions.
