Q2. Which QMS standards are primarily used in the automotive industry?

A: The most widely used standard is IATF 16949, which is specific to the automotive sector. It integrates ISO 9001 requirements and incorporates additional controls for risk prevention, traceability, defect reduction, and continuous improvement.

Q3. What is the difference between ISO 9001 and IATF 16949?

A: ISO 9001 is a generl quality standard applicable to all industries. IATF 16949 is automotive-specific, more exhaustive, and includes additional requirements such as APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, risk-based thinking, and supplier performance monitoring.

Q4. How do you assess the effectiveness of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)?

A: I validate CAPA effectiveness by checking 5 key elements:
1️⃣ Root cause identification process
2️⃣ Implementation timelines
3️⃣ Changes in documentation/work instruction
4️⃣ Verification through production performance and audit results
5️⃣ Closre and sustainment for a minimum defined period

Q5. How would you guide a supplier with repeated audit non-conformities?
